We were walking back to camp after fishing at the forks of the Kern. We noticed what appeared to be a American airline plane shining above the rock dome of a mountain. We noticed it didn't move or have wings. We proceeded back to camp to get cameras. It was a few min walk when we returned it was still there. We took pictures after observing for a while it seemed to disappear, later realizing I got a picture of it as it took off at a 45angle straight up.
