FORMER ASTRONAUT: MAN NOT ALONE IN UNIVERSE

(CNN) -- Earth Day may fall later this week, but as far as former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell and other UFO enthusiasts are concerned, the real story is happening elsewhere.
Mitchell, who was part of the 1971 Apollo 14 moon mission, asserted Monday that extraterrestrial life exists, and that the truth is being concealed by the U.S. and other governments.
He delivered his remarks during an appearance at the National Press Club following the conclusion of the fifth annual X-Conference, a meeting of UFO activists and researchers studying the possibility of alien life forms.
Mankind has long wondered if we're "alone in the universe. [But] only in our period do we really have evidence. No, we're not alone," Mitchell said.
"Our destiny, in my opinion, and we might as well get started with it, is [to] become a part of the planetary community.... We should be ready to reach out beyond our planet and beyond our solar system to find out what is really going on out there."
Mitchell grew up in Roswell, New Mexico, which some UFO believers maintain was the site of a UFO crash in 1947. He said residents of his hometown "had been hushed and told not to talk about their experience by military authorities." They had been warned of "dire consequences" if they did so.
But, he claimed, they "didn't want to go to the grave with their story. They wanted to tell somebody reliable. And being a local boy and having been to the moon, they considered me reliable enough to whisper in my ear their particular story."
Roughly 10 years ago, Mitchell claimed, he was finally given an appointment at Pentagon to discuss what he had been told.
An unnamed admiral working for the Joint Chiefs of Staff promised to uncover the truth behind the Roswell story, Mitchell said. The stories of a UFO crash "were confirmed," but the admiral was then denied access when he "tried to get into the inner workings of that process."
The same admiral, Mitchell claimed, now denies the story.
"I urge those who are doubtful: Read the books, read the lore, start to understand what has really been going on. Because there really is no doubt we are being visited," he said.
"The universe that we live in is much more wondrous, exciting, complex and far-reaching than we were ever able to know up to this point in time."
A NASA spokesman denied any cover-up.
"NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover-up about alien life on this planet or anywhere else -- period," Michael Cabbage said Monday.
Debates have continued about what happened at Roswell. The U.S. Air Force said in 1994 that wreckage recovered there in 1947 was most likely from a balloon-launched classified government project.
Stephen Bassett, head of the Paradigm Research Group (PRG), which hosted the X-Conference, said that the truth about extraterrestrial life is being suppressed because it is politically explosive.
"There is a third rail [in American politics], and that is the UFO question. It is many magnitudes more radioactive than Social Security ever dreamed to be," Bassett said.

"The two items pictured on the left were both produced by the multi-talented Desmond Leslie in the 1950s. By far the better known of the two is the book Flying Saucers Have Landed", written in collaboration with George Adamski in 1953. Perhaps "collaboration" is too strong a word, as the book consists of two completely disparate sections -- the first written by Leslie, the second by Adamski. The book's fame (or notoriety) rests on the latter section, which records Adamski's alleged encounters with visitors from outer space. This was the beginning of the "contactee" phenomenon which was to dominate ufology in the 1950s -- na"ively written accounts of extraterrestrials coming to Earth in order to warn people about the naughtiness of atomic weapons.Desmond Leslie's contribution is at the opposite end of the intellectual scale from Adamski's. It's still nonsense, but it's literate and well-researched nonsense. Leslie was the first person to try to link the UFO phenomenon with what would nowadays be called New Age beliefs -- bringing in everything from Atlantis and the Pyramids to Indian flying machines ("vimanas") and Celtic mythology. Leslie also draws heavily on esoteric writings such as the "Stanzas of Dzyan" and the theosophical theories of Madame Blavatsky... and even inserts a few original ideas of his own. Foremost among these is the notion that Flying Saucers are powered by musical tones and harmonies: "A vimana can be moved by tunes and rhythms".This brings us onto the second item depicted above: "Music of the Future". This is a modern CD, but the music on it was recorded by Leslie in the 1950s and originally issued as an acetate in 1959. "Music of the Future" is an accurate description of the sounds produced by Leslie, if not the technique he used. The music sounds electronic, but it isn't -- it was produced acoustically by various contrived means, and then processed mechanically on analogue tape recorders. The French term for this type of music, which was a short-lived fad among avant-garde composers, was "musique concr`ete"... the result sounds a bit like a cross between "Revolution 9" by the Beatles and the closing sequence of "2001: A Space Odyssey".The titles of the tracks clearly show Leslie's continuing interest in the mystical and esoteric: "Comet in Aquarius", "The Warhorns of Mars", "Coming of the Elementals" and "Death of Satan". The last-named is described by Leslie as an esoteric tone-poem, and contains the album's only recognisable tune (which can be heard in the clip at the bottom of this post) -- a distorted version of the theme from Richard Strauss's own tone-poem, "Don Juan".The first six tracks on the CD were written for a now-forgotten film called "The Day the Sky Fell In". I don't think Leslie had anything to do with the plot of the film, but from the way he describes it in the sleeve notes it sounds like an archetypal "contactee" scenario. A mysterious stranger visits a defence scientist and tries to dissuade him from working on nuclear weapons. The scientist refuses, so the stranger gives a loaded revolver to the scientist's son... who happens to be mentally retarded. An Alabama witness at Haleyville reported watching a silent, slow moving object with flashing lights that stopped and hovered over a neighbors home while shining "a bright beam of white light" to the ground level beginning about 11:37 p.m. on May 21, 2013, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness had just stepped outside when the object was first seen as "very bright red and white flashing lights."
"This object was not high enough for a plane and there was no noise except crickets," the witness stated. "It moved slowly and the trees that it passed did not move at all. There was no ring of lights or any other lights on the object as far as I could see."
The object then stopped over a wooded area near a neighbors home.
"A few seconds after it stopped a bright beam of white light appeared, blinding even though I was about a football field distance from it. This spotlight effect lasted for approximately 15-20 seconds and went off as quickly as it had come on."
As the spotlight went off, the red and white flashing lights returned.
"The object remained hovering for a few seconds and then exited right back the way it came. This is when I really got spooked because I know planes cannot go backwards....

VATICAN WILL DISPLAY BONES OF ST. PETER
On 26 June 1968, as much of Europe was busy rebelling against authority and fighting for free love, Pope Paul VI made a dramatic announcement that put the Roman Catholic church back in the headlines for reasons other than its stance on women, abortion or contraception.
Bones discovered in a Roman cemetery in the Vatican, he declared, had been identified "in a way we believe to be convincing" as those of Saint Peter, the Christian martyr who is traditionally held to have been the first pope and died 1,950 years ago.
But despite the 1968 announcement, the bones remained hidden. That will change on Sunday, when fragments are to be displayed in public as part of celebrations to mark the end of the Year of Faith, an initiative launched by Pope Benedict XVI, who resigned this year.

I am certain I and everyone else who read the paper must have savoured the whole news item down to the last printed word. Not because we believe in ghosts but such a story of a big black ghost haunting a factory washroom (or for that matter any place in the city) is so irresistible. We love ghost stories; actually believing them to be true is another matter.
In the young days of my generation there was a world-wide cult of the supernatural. There was voodoo, table rapping, fortune telling, tarot cards, palm reading, and spine chilling novels and books like The Satanic Bible The Exorcist, Damean, The Amityville Horror, The Shining... the list is endless. Last year I finally gave away my vast collection of supernatural literature. On re-reading them I did not find them scary anymore, and they were taking up seven feet of a bookshelf.

This is going to be the most extraordinary communication so fasten your seatbelts; we are in for a rough ride. I have known in my heart for months that I would have to make a communication like this but had no idea it would be this soon. Back in January, while investigating the underground city that is alleged to have been built under the new Denver Airport, reported on by the former governor Jesse Ventura, I put the puzzle together and came to the conclusion that a planetary event was in store for us in 2012.
Today I am presenting rock solid information; it does not get any better when NASA is your source. What you are about to read and see is happening. Last night, looking at a NASA mathematical model of comet Elenin, I found out that a large celestial body has already penetrated the solar system and is on course for a near and possibly horrific encounter with the earth in the fall of 2011. What we do not know is the size and mass of comet Elenin though I have no doubt that it is known by the authorities.
Elenin is presently being tracked as it goes through the asteroid belt on its way into the inner solar system. I am truly sorry to have to be the bearer of such grave and threatening news but the source, NASA, is impeccable. We have an incoming mass (what might possibly be a neutron star) coming in and it will do a hard turn around the sun like any comet would, crossing and coming in between Mercury and Venus before starting its journey back out. On its way out it will cross our bow, meaning it will pass very close to the earth and the earth will pass behind it, plowing into its tail.
In the video below you will see this explained graphically. What you will see with mathematical precision is that EVERY TIME THIS CELESTIAL BODY COMES INTO ALIGNMENT WITH THE EARTH AND SUN WE HAVE A HUGE EARTHQUAKE. The last three alignments produced the Japanese 9.0 quake, the one in New Zealand and before that the one in Chile. On March 11th Elenin was much further out. When the next alignment happens it will be devastatingly close. THE MAIN POINT TO UNDERSTAND IS THAT IF ELENIN WAS JUST A NORMAL COMET IT WOULD NOT HAVE THE MASS TO GENERATE A GRAVITY PULL THAT WOULD AFFECT THE EARTH WHEN THE EARTH SWINGS AROUND INTO ALIGNMENT.
David Morrison, Astrobiology Senior Scientist at NASA, in an official communication on March 1st acknowledged no threat from Elenin. Ten days later Elenin came into alignment with the earth and the sun and Japan was almost destroyed.
Morrison confirmed that Elenin's perihelion (closest to the sun) is in early September 2011 at a distance from the sun of 40-45 million miles. He said it will be closest to the earth on about October 16, at a distance of about 21 million miles, but he believes there is no reason to think Elenin is any different from a normal comet. I wonder if he changed his mind after March 11th. He dismisses everything alarming as pure fiction.This is the real deal though-that alignment did happen as we can clearly see from the NASA simulation. Now we have to live with increasing radiation spreading around the northern hemisphere. We know how easy it is for people in authority to cover up information and lie with a straight face. The Japanese government admitted it kept in secret at least 5000 radiation measurements and assessments after the nuclear event that struck the Fukushima Daiichi NPP in March. THIS WAS DONE IN ORDER TO NOT INDUCE PANIC IN THE POPULATION, a representative of the staff dealing with the nuclear emergency told ITAR-TASS.
We have to acknowledge and accept that there is a danger and a possibility that part of our civilization and the people in it will be lost. This is not a time to deny anything or a time to hold back the tears. I hope to God I am wrong but the evidence cannot be dismissed casually, though of course it will be. One picture is worth a thousand words and NASA has given us visible proof to suggest Elenin is playing a role in events down here on our planet even from a long distance. It is not a time for fear; rather it is a time for love and cooperation in the context of preparation on all levels for what is to come.
There is a history to Elenin that has been visible for years but now she is upon us and there is nothing we can do but prepare and pray-and love like we have never loved before. We have to acknowledge and accept that there is a danger and there is a possibility that part of our civilization and the people in it will be lost. As one of the New Yorkers who watched the attack happen on Sept 11th I can say without question I am happy to find that this devil - this monster is dead. I will go to my grave with the memory of innocent men and women jumping to their deaths while thousands of others perished in flames right before my eyes. My hatred for this man and terror is deep and hard.
I watch as my fellow New Yorkers rejoice in the news this animal is no longer alive. I feel justice knowing he is mere fish bait. I also feel concern.
I hope everyone has learned that a terrorist is a vile, mean, ignorant animal that kills on the command of others for little or no reason. I hope all westerners understand that you are their target.
It does not mean you are safe because you do not live in a city. You are not safe if you do not live in the U.S.A.. If you are part of the western world or if you do not agree with terrorism YOU are a target.
I am thrilled this beast is dead. I also know our killing him has poked a huge stick in the bee hive of terror and they will be drooling for the next retaliation, the next kill.
We have no choice in this world but to fight terror. We need to grasp this fact and own it. For us to ever return this planet to a balance of good over evil we need to buck up and stand tough against the bleak dark heart of terror.
Be more diligent then ever when out in the world. Pay attention to your surroundings and the people around you. If we all stand strong and aware this cancer can be destroyed and removed from our world. We must raise out of the days or darkness and stress into a time of light and strength. On top of our own deeds stopping progress in finding answers to so many unknowns the stresses of today's world seem to be having a impact on the public.. People seem to be crazier than ever.
As a paranormal writer I receive lots of email and phone calls. Most of the time the emails and calls are from wonderful people who want to share an incredible experience.. I have been fortunate to have so many intelligent, truthful - sane people share their encounters with the unknown with me. I also have been sent amazing photo's and a few extremely interesting video's over the years.
Unfortunately I also have been sent insane emails, crazy voice messages as well as phony photo's and faked video's. Sadly all of this comes with the subject matter.
Over the years the percent of good people with truthful reports to the wacko's and frauds has been about 60/40. At least 60% of the interactions have been with good decent people who have had real experiences to 40% fakes, flakes and attention seekers. It was the way of things and seemed to stay in that pattern for a very long time.
.It started gradually as the world situation started to deteriorate so did the world of the paranormal.
Fakes, frauds, liars and those with problems were growing. The good people kept coming along however they all seemed extremely reluctant to share openly their experiences due to the concerns of being grouped with the crazies and confused.
I needed to promise more than ever before total confidentiality with each and every person I talked to. I am known to protect those I write about which is why I think I receive as many reports as I do. The new wave of things however has this the first priority before all else with people. Things were changing. Things were becoming more closed and our moving forward to finding answers now seems bleaker than ever.
The worlds problems started to dominate the public's attention which lowered the time and interest the population once had in the world of things unknown. With so many hard problems growing all over the planet people just did not have the time, energy or interest they once did in subjects considered paranormal. Good people who were having real events were now overly concerned about public ridicule or reaction that might affect their family or jobs. With times hard enough now adding a new source of possible difficulty was just not worth the risk of coming forward about a sighting or encounter with an unknown event.
It seemed the stresses of today's world was most apparent with the unbalanced population of those who circulate in the paranormal. The proportion of emails were tipping towards the bizarre with some downright insane.
Fake photo's seemed to double as well as video 's. Some were so bad that they insulted the intelligence of an adult. I had to chalk them up to the work of a 12 year old with too much indoor time on their hands. I would shudder to think a grown up would think such nonsense would be considered real. I will tell you sadly that I have seen these ridiculous fakes displayed in full glory on other sites. I can only shake my head as we sink deeper and deeper into the depth of darkness with all things considered unknown.
People are showing the signs of the weight of the problems in the world. The world of the paranormal is a perfect place to act out the stress of the times. It is obvious to me that this turn will continue as long as our world continues to slide in turmoil and confusion.
Those needing professional help are active and worrisome. I have had a few very ill people send me rambling confused statements which display their serious delusions. It is sad. Others use this time in history to try to feed other twisted needs in their character. I also get the real dark losers of the paranormal who try to use the subject matter of the unknown to threaten or frighten. I find these to be the biggest fools loose and know they will one day pay dearly for their negative nasty deeds.
I fully recognize and understand the laws of karma. You will without exception pay for the misery, harm, mean spirited and hateful things you do. It will come back and attack you in the exact fashion you send it to others. I would seriously contemplate that law of the universe the next time you do something dirty, evil or nasty. All I can tell you is to get ready because soon you will receive what you project 10 fold in return.
I can only hope that the history of our planet can swing quickly to a place that is once again in a better balance. I pray for a time where we are all out of harm's way and prosperous. I know that good brings hope and truth as evil brings all things that are opposite to good. All we can do is try to help our world return to a better place.
Think good thoughts, do good deeds and stop the hate. Make the world a place we all want to live and thrive and leave the darkness behind.
For now I will continue to read my emails and answer my calls weeding out the good from the bad. I will write about those who are honest and ignore those who are fools and frauds.
One day we may be on a better path. One day the world of unknown subjects may be understood and accepted. Until then all any of us can do is be our best, fight the temptation of evil and keep looking forward to a brighter day.
